On 24th April, Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald Classes all enjoyed taking part in first aid sessions. Ruby Class discussed who to call in an emergency and explored various items which can help us when we are hurt, including plasters, cool packs and bandages. They then listened to some stories and answered questions about the characters, recalling the important number to ring for help. There was lots of discussion about the children's own experiences of first aid, too! In the workshops for Sapphire and Emerald Classes, they looked at, and practiced, resuscitation, CPR, the recovery position, choking and how to apply bandages. Everyone was really engaged and found the sessions very informative.
