Chicks

24th April 2024

During the science topic this term, Ruby Class has been learning all about animals, including humans and their life cycles.  As part of this they have had an incubation experience with chicks happening in the classroom.  Over the course of two weeks they carefully observed the eggs and loved watching the live hatching of one egg in the middle of the day!  Once the chicks had got strong enough, they were moved to their house with food and water.  The children then got to watch them play and gently stroke some of the chicks as they sat around in a circle, and the chicks explored a safe walled area.  Everyone has loved watching the learning come to life and has enjoyed the suggestive and creative names.  A cracking time has been had by all!
