Armistice Day

11th November 2025

This year, the children of Emerald Class were once again invited to take part Alfriston village’s Remembrance Service to mark Armistice Day on Tuesday 11th November. They walked to the Tye, outside St. Andrew’s Church, where they joined locals and veterans to mark the sombre occasion. The whole class joined together to sing a moving rendition of Dona Nobis Pacem lead by Kelly Ellis. At the end of the service, House Captains Luna and Alba laid the school’s Remembrance wreath in the church. Many of the attendees went out of their way to comment on how well the children conducted themselves and how well they represented the school. Not only was this event important in building community links, but it also tied in with the Emerald topic for the term – The Great War.
